The Central Georgia empowerment Fund is a Black Giving Circle designed to cultivate charitable giving within the African American community.

In this area you can find our signature piece, measuring 68 inches tall and 55 feet long. It allows visitors to travel through time exploring the feats of African Americans from past to present!
O.L. Samuels left home at the age of eight. He worked on Georgia farms, and later traveled to New York and became a professional prizefighter. Samuels returned to Georgia on the 1960s and found work as a tree surgeon. In 1982 an accident on the job left him severely injured. Discouraged by his slow, he fell into a depression. Then he remembered that his grandmother, a former slave, once told him that a person could keep his mind off his troubles by carving on a spool of wood.

The roots of the Tubman Museum exhibits go as deep as our own home in Macon. Our Local History and Georgia Artists exhibits display significant artifacts from Macon and Georgia history.
The Tubman Museum can accommodate small to large rental events (dinners, receptions, weddings, reunions, dances, lectures, and concerts). The primary event spaces in the building are the first-floor rotunda and the second-floor balcony.

A mother of eleven children, she also had to contend with an abusive husband. She created evocative sculptures using roots, tree branches, paint, glitter, beads, and sometimes pieces of her own hair. Harvey's creative process was a kind of prayer, through which she communed with God. She began exhibiting her works in the 1970's. In 1995 she participated in the Biennial exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art. She was aware of the popularity of her work but remained independent. In a 1989 interview for Antique Magazine she stated that, " I've got a free spirit and I won't be under nobody's thumb. Nobody will conquer me."
